do this, i just did and it works wonders...
this may be common knowlege, but someone will need it...
buy a large zinc nut that fits your shift lever and bench grind it down till its a little too big for your shifter, then force that **** in there af far as it will go and congradulations, you know have a shorter titer shift **** than before, now go get some lock tite and itll never come loose again...
