Erratic Idle, New Apex BOV. AYUDA!!!!

Ok so,....

just recently i got my car running and it was running good and regular idle at about 1200 id say on account that the engine is ported (and thats what the shop set it as)

so then the other day i go and replace the BOV with an Apex one that fits the stock
coupling. and after that i was getting an odd idle. everything is connected and tightly secured ( unless there is a recommended/specified nipple i should have hooked up the BOV to) it seemed like it wanted to die but it was idling really low but jumping around

and then when it warms up it goes normal to like 12-1500. but then sometimes after that the idle will jump close to 2k. it hops around.

it was running regular when the stock one was on, so possibly i have to adjust the idle or the TPS? i dont really know to tell yall the truth.

is there any method (not FSM related) to adjust the idle? maybe a suggestion that some of you may have done in the past?

well idk but is the bov set to vta? what happens is that the maf gets incorrect readings cause the bov dumps the air and the maf freaks out cause its missing the accounted air.

It sounds like your TPS needs to be adjusted. You can do it via the FSM method with a multimeter or you can use the "test light" method.

I have an apexi BOV that vents to atmosphere and I do not have the same problems as you do. The bov venting to atmosphere causes a super rich condition when getting off the gas while in boost. This contributes to backfiring and fireballs.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Or the BOV isn't functioning properly. A BOV that sticks open is a very large vac leak. I'd check into that first.
