erratic idle after installing turbo

replaced turbo. Feels great to not have boost creep anymore

Was in a hurry today so i left the downpipe off...god i love the sound of unmuffled rotary .

But...my idle is funky, it sits around 500rpm and bounces, and after about 10 seconds it dies. I can drive it around, i just need to heel to everywhere.

Should i tighten my intake? could that be a cause?

do you still have your bac valve? sometimes when you don't replace it right, it messes up your idle. Same thing happened to me when i put the turbo back on. check all your hoses on the bac valve.

maybe try reseting the idle...and all, sounds as if maybe there is a vac leak, before you go tearing stuff apart grab a can of carb cleaner and spray it all around, hrmm but if the car won't idle for that long that make not work...

no BAC valve on engine at all.

I only used a screwdriver on the fasteners, i didnt use a ratchet, a lot of the fasteners are really old.

yeah, i needed 2 more bolts as 2 became rounded when i was taking them off. The DP is only secure through 1 bolt. Gotta go to home depot.

Do NOT attempt to reset the idle. There is no reason to. Put the downpipe on, and make sure the TID is tight and all hoses secure and in place. DO NOT mess with random screwes on the engine. They would not go out of adjustment because of a turbo swap...sigh....
