Eratical Throttle

Ok so i have owned the same Rx-7 since i was 15 i am now 21 and i had my first engine problem. at first i thought it was the tps sensor, when i removed it there was corrosion built up on the connectors, when i replaced the tps sensor i still had a erratical throttle and it would stick on like 4000 rpm. ok so what i did next was remove the intake right where it connects to the throttle and boom! there was the problem! the gasket that apparently sits between the hose to the butterflies and the throttle boddy was stuck inbetween the flaps. i removed the gaskets and started the car and it idled much much much better, the only thing i was wondering is if a bit of gasket got inside, past the butterflies what will happen? will the motor burn it up or will it get stuck somewhere past that point? also now the car idles perfect but when i drive it , it boggles out kinda unless i really press the gas. can someone help?

If any bits of it actually make it into the engine, it most likely will just be burnt up. Actually, it would have happened already, since you've ran it after you discovered the problem. If you're really concerned about it, the upper intake manifold and throttle body are easy enough to take off and check for loose bits of gasket.

When you hit the gas, the RPMs drop? Or it just doesn't really respond until you hit the gas harder?
