engines
Alright, i just moved to alpine, TX (middle of nowhere) and i am going to college here. I love 240's (hence the name), but when i was first deciding on a car i wanted to build a 2nd gen. RX7 was/is at the top of my list.
Anyways, I was walking to school and i look at this house and off to the side in the weeds is a rx7. I go look at it and there is no paint but the body is in decent shape, the interior is non-existent, tires are all flat, and i am assuming the engine is done.
So I was just wondering what the best engine sights are. I'm looking to swap the 13-be-t into it (i think that is the engine code).
Also if you guys no of any performance websites that would be helpful. When i was doing research for a 240sx i found projectnissan.com which has the greatest layout i have ever seen. So if you know of one like that, it just tends to make things easier.
Thanks for all your help whoever re-posts to this.

Please read the FAQ, check the Archives, and do a search for "jspec", "rebuilt engines", "engine vendors" and variations. There is no "best" place to buy an engine. Some builders cater to the more frugal crowd, some build top notch engines sparing no cost, and some are in the middle. My suggestion is to post in your local forum and find a builder that is local to you. Have a talk with them, find out what your goals are, etc.

The cheapest, easist, and less intensive way is to start with a Turbo RX-7 Model and rebuild it. Upgrading a non-turbo rx-7 requires swapping in the heavy duty trans, diff, drivetrain, ECU, fuel pump, etc...
There are plenty of 13B-T (Turbo), 13B-RE(twin turbo), and 13B-REW (high compression twin turbo), and 20B (3 rotor) engines that should bolt up. The motor mount adpaters are sold online.
This website has allot of archived info, do a search and you'll find tons. I'm not 100% sure which are the BEST engine sites anymore since everyone has their own opinion.
My "BEST engine site" is me personally rebuilding the engine by hand. That way I know the condition of the internals & quality of rebuild parts I use.
