Engine vacuum lines: what size?

Engine vacuum lines: what size?

Just a quick question for you all. What width are the majority of vacuum lines in the engine bay of the FC, and what kind of length in total is all the vacuum lines? Am going to do some work on this non-starting FC on Monday and want to start replacing all the vacuum lines, but need to know what size to buy first.

Except for the vacuum spider, you will need about 15 feet of 3.5mm (inner diameter measurement) of tubing. 5/32" diameter( inner diameter= id) will also do. Also, when pulling the tubing off the solenoids of the rats nest (emissions stuff) you need to be careful not to break off the plastic nozzle that sticks out from these solenoids. A very easy method is to cut the existing tube at the midpoint, disconnect the electrical plug, slide the solenoid off its mounting place by pressing down slightly on the mounting tab at the bottom of the small device and then with the solenoid in hand using a sharp razor blade to cut a slit longways down the old tube where it connects to the solenoid and simply peel it off the plastic nozzle.

Thanks for the advice. Will probably use that method as I don't want anything breaking as I'm pulling hoses off.

I broke all that crap off.

Seriously. Some neighboor kid came by on his four wheeler and asked what i was doing to the "drift car" and i said, fixing it.

I snapped all the omp lines off and said "i dont need this", threw the old injectors on the ground "dont need those", ripped the vac spider **** out "dont need this"...... The look on his face was priceless.


I hate clutter. What can i say.

But do what satch says. ALL THAT STUFF IS VERY FRAGILE. Doesn't take much force to break something, not that i cared about such things but you obviously plan on using the factory systems so BE VERY, VERY, VERY careful.
