GA Engine Shuts Down

After a few miles of driving, especially on the highway at around 80mph and 3.5krpm, the engine starts to shut down. But if i pull over and turn it off and back on it runs fine, until it possibly does it again. Or even if i remain on the highway, switch the keys off keep it in gear and turn it back on it will run fine. Whats wrong? It doesn't happy often, especially if i just go easy on it, maybe 80pmh and 3krpm. I notice the check engine light is on, but it will go off as soon as i hit the gas, and come back on soon as i let off.

Pull the codes from the ECU and start from there. It sounds like you may be hitting limp mode (I am assuming S5 since you didn't tell us what year your car is).

If after that, everything keeps repeating, then you probably have 2 error codes going on.

# 20 - Metering Oil Pump (MOP) position sensor - Basic Fuel Inj and fixed timing
# 27 - MOP (General) - Basic Fuel Injection and fixed timing

Which would be a strong candidate for limp mode.
