So I was originally having spark problems with my 88 NA rx. I put new ignitor/coils assembly in it and it now starts up. If you let the car sit it will idle on its own. The problem comes in to play when you press the brakes or turn the steering wheel. The car then drops down to really low rpm and will die if you dont give it gas. Also the idle is a little shakky. If you rev it to over 3k rpm it then runs perfectly smooth and sounds great. But when you let off the gas the rpm will drop so low the car will stall without giving it gas. I also think the car is running rich, Any ideas?

 

try checking for vaccum leaks
