I'm doing it in a 87 GXL with not Rotory or mechanic Experince (save working on a 93 accord replaceing the trany) and my father (25+ years of being everything Mechanicing thing). I say it's do able.

it took me probably 12 hours to remove my 87 TII engine, with NO experience. The hardest part is getting the ECU unplugged and the transmission unbolted.
I ended up pulling the engine and trans together, which is so long it's hard to get out of the car.

Dude,

Swapping the motors in an FC is nothing short of simple. I have swapped ALOT of motors on ALOT of cars, and nothing even comes close.

I used your write up quite a bit. But to be honest found some others to be more helpful and a little more "step by step"
I referred to yours when it came to doing the ECU wires though.

What are you saying, that even though I wrote out every single step to remove every part, that it is still confusing or something?

Should I put about 100 pictures of each and every bolt?

Well, I mean hell. Here I am, in business to make money, but I still take time to do big writeups with pictures and descriptions of things like this for the good of the community. And yet we have people who still complain that it isn't good enough. "the $29.95 video of engine removal was more in depth than your free internet writeup...".

No. Simply saying I thought your write up was ****.
Most people would be interested in honest, constructive criticism. I guess some aren't.

The problem with this logic is that to make money people have to remove their engines and send them to you. Therefore, I would have thought having clear and concise insturctions available for this would be of concern to you. Obviously it is not, why is a mystery to me.

It's as if they want you to come do it for them or something. I sure as hell didn't have anyone to spoon feed me when I started working on them. I did good to get a question answered every 2 weeks.

IF you couldn;t figure out how to remove your own engine in the first place, and you couldn;t figure it out with the help of my writeup, and you say it is "****", then your mechanic skillz must be MAD TYTE YO.

Fucktard...

touchy touchy touchy. A little honest feedback and you have to start with personal attacks.
The writeup I found helpful was typed in MS word, and had zero pictures, fyi.

What the ****...

The instructions in most haynes and chilton manuals for almost every car in the world say something like

Section 6A: Engine removal.

Step 1. Place car on jackstands.
Step 2. Remove hood.
Step 3. Remove engine.
installation is the reverse of removal.

These ******* sell their books and make tens of thousands of dollars per year off this ****.

I post a free internet writeup with step by step instructions, naming each part one by one, in sequential order, some even giving the size of the ******* bolt head!!

And your wise *** says it is "****".

Oh please. I've removed one engine and could do a better writeup in 5 minutes.
All I said originally is that I found other writeups to be more helpful. Then you have to go and fly off the handle about it. Glad I didn't send my block to you for repair with a temper like that.

You could do a better writeup. Let's see it, jack.

I'm waiting. It's 11:30 now...start at 11:32. We'll see your response by 11:37 I assume?

So am I. I don't like working for people who know more than I do. Or think they do, anyway. IF you know so much, why not do it yourself. NASA may be calling you next week.

kevin,

come on man, dont get a warning over something dumb like this. For every one person that criticizes you, there are 10 more of us that appreciate the support you give the rotary community.

A random comment is one thing. A direct insult to one's work is another. That is what we have here. Just the same as if someone walked up to you on teh sidewalk and called your woman a bitch...he called my work "****" an since my work is a large part of my life, he might as well be saying that to my face.

**** that bullshit...
