Engine Removal Questions
Engine Removal Questions
Alright, I'm a n00b but I've got some questions on engine removal. I'm taking the engine out and leaving the transmission in and I already have most of the wiring connectors and hoses taken care of. I need to keep the wiring harness and was wondering if there was any way to remove the one that wraps around the top of the engine without removing the intake manifold. Also, is there an easy way to unhook the front oil cooler line from the engine?
Thanks

You can disconnect the emissions harness at the ECU.
The oil cooler line disconnects with the appropriate wrench. I generally just use an adjustable one.
If you search for "front oil cooler line" you can probably find a lot of different techniques for removal as it is a common question.

I actually have to use the current wiring harness. The engine i'm putting in has a cut one but if necessary i could go through the work of splicing it. What I want to do though is remove the wiring harness from the current engine, drop in the new engine, and put the wiring harness on it.

Heres a link on how to remove the engine. It has info on the best way to remove the oil cooler lines without damaging them. http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/te...e_removal.html
BTW, if you see this kevin, the site looks great. I love the redesign.
