Question engine removal

Im pulling the engine outta my 86 Gxl and im wondering what the easest way to pull it out is. like should I pull it out with the tranny attached or should I drop the tranny out then pull the engine seprately? Thanks

either way is easy.. leaving the trans in the car makes life easier to pull it.. putting it back in is a little more time consuming since you have to make sure the trans lines up correctly but then you dont have to put in new trans lube (pain in the a$$).

If you are using a hoist, leave the tranny in the car and just pull the engine.

I prefer to pull the tranny and engine as a unit.

I'm doing a TII swap. for this would it be easier to pull them together, or pull/swap them separatly? It seems like it would be a pain in the *** to pull the engine and tranny together, but also a PITA to line everything up after doing it separately. which way woud be faster/easier?
