Question engine rebuilds

Hey everyone I have a '87 tII that had the thermostat housing break and caused my engine of less than 8k to overheat now I get compression into the radiator blowing out all of my coolant I've been told it needs a new water seal is that something a backyard mech can do himself.

You would have to tear the engine apart to replace them. If this is something you feel you can handle get a rebuild video and take a shot

would you recommend that this is something that might be over my head. I heard you have to be very precise putting back together and what about that flywheel nut?

I dont know how much mech skills you have but if you get one of the videos it guides you through it step by step, and they also sell the video that shows you how to remove and re install the motor.
