engine rebuild - mixing parts s4 n/a s5 TII
Hi Folks.
Maybe I'm going to rebuild my old s4 N/A engine with water seal failure. I also have a blown s5 turbo engine laying around. So I wanted to ask if there are any parts of the s5 turbo engine that I could use for the s4 n/a engine and gain any advantages from it? I read a thread where someone put TII exhaust sleeves in his n/a engine - whats that for for example?
thanks,
Harry

well the exhaust sleeves would simply be to lose the diffusers that are in the exhaust ports on your N/A motor - this can also be done by simply grinding them out of the way........
The only thing I can really think of would be the entire S5 rotating assembly, since it is a bit lighter for higher RPM's, you'd need the E-shaft, rotors, front counter weight, and flywheel........
BUT
You have an S5 TURBO motor.....which means it has lower compression.........which means I wouldn't use it in N/A configuration, you'd be further ahead with all S4 N/A internals then you would be with S5 Turbo internals...
