HEY GUYS I WAS REAL CAUIOUS ABOUT THIS1987 T2 THAT I JUST BOUGHT AND ITS AT 119XXX. WHEN DO I GET THE MOTOR rebuilt? the car runs real strong and makes great boost idils great starts right up on point and everything.The previous owner had no prolbems with motor no smoke no overheat nuthing. tell me how can i tell a good motor from a bad motor cause i real scrared of wat people say about the t2 how the apex seals break and what not please help me. if in the bay area s.f daly city then leave me a message that would help alot. tanks agian.

 

The apex seals only break if you detonate (ping) the motor with bad tuning.
Otherwise they can go over 200K.

Compression or excessive smoke is the tell about the condition of a rotary.
