I dont know that much about autocross, but I think they have rules about modding your car and I think putting a SC on your car will get you in the class VS vipers and Z06's.

you can bolt the tII manifolds and turbo to a n/a block and just call it a tII and they'll stick you in BS (that's b-stock, hehe) and kick some major ***.

So uhh...still looking for links on turbo information. Tried google, but all i get are places that sell turbos or review them. I'm looking for a thorough explanation of setting them up and tuning.

A standalone is a great idea for this project. Why wouldn't he get one? It seems that he's got the money to put the right stuff in this car, so why not make sure it'll work right.

you will be fine with the SAFCII, and also you will want to get fuel system upgrades. a TII pump is fine, as with slight larger injectors...but you do realize that once you do hit 200hp, you will want more, right?
...that's one reason to get a standalone i guess...
I was thinking the TII pump is only good for about 220 flywheel. I'm probably mistaken, but oh well. Assuming he's getting a standalone, or even a SAFC, why not just go ahead and get a Walbro.

as for turbo vs supercharger, you can easily get 200hp out of either. i'd have to say that turbo charging is a more straight forward route. supercharging may appear simple by concept, but i think there may be more involved for any significant hp gains...if you think about it, if you are needing an intercooler and custom piping for the blower, why not use half the money on turbo charging it?
before even thinking for a moment about the goals of the respective project?
Ever think his goal is to have a super just because they're rare on FC's. Not saying that is his goal, but who knows.

Btw, just giving a different perspective, not looking for an argument . Nice debate is all.

The idea behind having a SC would be the increased low end torque and power. Of course, since i do not want to drag race i don't think the added low end would be any help. Also, i would have to fabricate a new intake, which i do not have the skills to do.

Going turbo should achieve the same goals i'm aiming for but a little bit easier.

And i will eventually go for a stand alone, but not for awhile. I could probably afford the unit, but the downtime it would require to install it i cannot afford. I think i failed to mention that this is also my daily drive.

Still hoping for turbo information though....

Still needing information on turbos. Example of what i'm looking for: How to control boost? Like i know you can get a Bov valve, and i understand the concept of the wastegate, but how do you set the PSI at which they open/close?

Turbo information: http://www.howstuffworks.com

Also, go to the library and get the book "Maximum Boost" by Corkey Bell.

unless you are trying to be competative and plan on going to EVERY race of the season and trying to win your local championship, the class you get placed in doesnt realy matter.

most everyone i know who auto-x's just does it for fun and to wring thier car out in a safe, controlled environment.

sure you may not win, or even come close in a class like that, but it would be a challenge, and you can get the times of other cars you feel more equal to so you can still come up with bragging rights one way or another.
