Engine problems, not starting

I'm no mechanic and I don't know anything about cars minus how to drive them. Main problem is the fan is turning as well as the belts but they don't seem like they're moving at the speed they should be, about half the speed maybe.

Here's a video:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=38980110

Anyway, a friend (who kind of knows what he's talking about but mostly works on Nissans) told me to check the spark plugs. Refering to the owners manual for the spark plugs, I couldn't remove them. I have a socket wrench set with the spark plug attachment but I can't get past a larger piece that's on it. The pictures suck but it looks like a nut was put over them. So before I decide to start taking things off and what not, is that normal cause it wasn't in the manual so I wanted to be weary of it. Also is there a special tool besides a normal wrench for it (cause it's a little hard to get to)? I have owned it for a while now but someone else has always done my work for me. I'm trying to learn so I might be able to get better at it and do my own repairs but it's a learning process...and it sucks cause my car is out of commission. One day I'll take it to Atkins but 1-money and 2-it doesn't run (minor details).

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

The Socket that you use for Spark plugs has a rubber Grommet way up inside the Socket itself..take that rubber piece out and it allows you to Get a good Grasp of the plug..When removing the plugs, with Power steering,I find if you stick one arm through,Under the Steering Pump, and then go up top and place the Socket on teh plug it is much easier to get at...as far as the belts, check the tension of the Belts. They can be adjusted at the Power steering bracket and the Alternator bracket..The Fan is a Clutch type Viscious fan..it only Runs when it the engine starts and When it needs to..other that that is just Freeplays..Check the Fan's "bearing" to see if the fan Was Wobble to it.If it does then replace it....Start off with Simple/Normal stuff..Like a Maintenance tune up..Fuel filter.,Plugs Wires,Air filter,Oil Change/Filter change...oh..and I just watched teh Video..Once the plugs are out,..Pull the EGI fuse out(located on the fuse block engine bay)Put a Half ounce of OIL into the Plug holes,Roll the engine over about two, three Seconds, with plugs Out..Put the EGI back in,plugs in..Connect the Wires Correctly(if you have to Mark the wires so you know where they go)..once that is done,Try to Start the car again..Because it sounds FLOODED..(the steps I just gave you are to Deflood the engine..Quickly).make sure the battery has a FULL charge,(put it on Charge over Night if you can)..If it was Just flooded My Method Works..If not Try again. After three times IF it doesn't start, then it is Most likely Something other than Flooded...Take care...and Good luck..I hope this helps..STYX.

I really hope it's just a battery problem but the terminals themselves I would not like to replace considering I hate electronics worse than I do mechanics. But thanks for the tips I will try them all.
