Engine problems!!! Need help!!!

I have a '91 non-turbo. I made a 350 mile trip this week with no problems. I arrived, shut the car off, and enjoyed my visit. When I went to leave to return home, I turned the key and the engine seems to turn twice as fast as normal. If it were a conventional engine, I'd say classic broken timing chain symptoms. I know very little about the 1.3 rotary. If anybody can give me a clue as to where to start looking, I would be very greatful. Thanks.

Lots faster? Not good. Try removing one plug from each rotor. Pull EGI Fuse to prevent flooding. Turn the motor over while placing your finger over the plug hole and check for compression. You should feel even pulses pushhing your finger away from the hole.

However, it sounds like you threw an apex seal. Sorry.

I would say that it is flooded.

Check out this web site for more info: http://www.rx7.com/tech/unflood-fc.html

Good luck,
