engine problem or just new engine symptoms? very worried

aight so i got mu new rebuilt engine all hooked up and when i drove around my block if i give it more than say 1/4 throttle it starts bogging down on me. is this because the compression hasnt gotten up there yet or is it something else. it idles decently at around 1k, doesnt die out on me. im just worried that i did something wrong cuz itll bog down at a good amount of throttle... let me know what u guys think. thanks in advance

I put in a rebuilt motor about one month ago and the compression wasn't great until about a few days ago. My 7 was doing the same thing. I had to fix the timing and then it ran much better. Check your timing. They say you need about 2000 miles for full break in if you used used housings. So, give it some time to break in. I thought my car would never run the same, then I went on a 1000 mile trip last weekend. Now it runs strong. Give it 2000 miles before you worry.

I don't have much to any experience breaking in an engine but from my knowledge I would say it is sort of normal maybe. (don't trust me, this is just what I think). I know engines will start running better after they get broken in a bit, once the seals wear down a tiny bit so they are shaped perfectly to the housing it will gain better compression. Not sure if it should bog on you or not but I know it will not run as strong now as it will in say a month or two.
Just my 2 cents.
