my head does the same, except it just needs the model and make. and its easer.

I paid 5k for a mint condition all stock turbo w/ 58k miles on it three years ago. No way I'd spend that for an N/A.

technically youre right, but they did make turbos mid to late 86, but just labeled them as 87 models....technically:)

Actually the VINs only begin with FC3, there is no S.

I have a real hard time believing those pics are current! Especially the engine compartment.

i picked up my 10th AE for $2000, running, and not in the worst of shape either and only 80k miles on it

EDIT

i just looked at the entire add, its a restored car of course the guy is gonna want top dollar for it. its basically a 2 year old car (it was restored in 2003) so i believe the guy is thinking that since he restored the car to original condition and everything is "flawless" to his taste then he wont sell it for less. so my opinion, look around for another car you can find a beat up bodied SE or soemthing for dirt cheap and still have a ton left over for whatever else you need.

and look at KBB http://kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kb...0RX-7&20;MA;B3&&& for my area a 0 mile GXL fully loaded is only worth $2,250, honestly look for another one

Personally, I don't think $6K is all that bad for the incredible condition that this car is in (if it really does look that good, which I doubt, and depending on the mechanical condition), but he's going to have a REAL hard time finding someone who appreciates all the work he's put into it.

I love my car, but it's just not a car that carries the same cache as a classic Porche or something.

Nah. There are nice cars out there. This is an '87 with 140K at the time of the picture.

To be even more specific, JM1 is the mazda manufacturer code.
Also, 6k is way to much for any 2nd gen. He prob. put a bunch of money into it an wants to get it all back. You never get back the money put into a car. The guy i bought my car from had 6 grand in parts in it, and I got it fot 3k. For that price, you could get a junker and rebuild the engine with street ports, get a good exhaust and a nice racing suspention.
