engine not starting...???
Hey, i have an 87 n/a and one day it just stopped turning on, it started the night before, and i went out the next morning, and it wouldnt start... the motor is turning but it wont start at all, doesnt even sound like it attempts to start, just turns. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump is working, but it still isnt trying to start... the only problems ive ever had in the past were sometimes i would have to keep cranking it and giving it gas for it to start(only happened 2-3 times)
anyone know what the problem could be?

Sounds like its flooded. You can pull the EGI fuse from your underhood fuse box, then crank the motor with the pedal floored, to clear out the gas. Then you put the fuse back in and try to fire it. Sounds like it may be REALLY flooded though. And that may require the ATF trick.
Typing the ATF procedure is LONG, so just do a search for it.

Flooded. Several ways to correct it. I prefer buying a can of starter fluid, pulling the fuel pump plug off, spraying into the snorkel prior to the air filter for one to two seconds, getting in the car, flooring the pedal, and letting the car go varoooooom and die. Repeat twice, then reconnect the fuel pump plug and start the car without depressing the pedal to the floor until the car starts. Beats pouring oil into the sparkplug holes from the side by a mile.
Note: Do not constantly spray starter fluid into the intake to keep the car running. Not good for apex seals. Trust me. Just spray for two seconds. Thats enough.
