how do i check my engine mounts? and how diffcult is it to replace them?

 

Open the hood and grab your motor firmly - try to shake the motor from side-to-side. &nbsp If it "clanks" or makes odd noises, the engine mount(s) are probably no good.

An engine hoist really helps this fix as you need to lift the engine up to get at the enigne mounts.&nbsp Once that is take care of, you'll need to get under the car to get at the engine mounts easily.&nbsp It's pretty much a remove and replace affair.

Does anyone make an aftermarket mount??? I.E. Energy Suspension???

 

mazda comp. $22 each (you need 2) they are 40% stiffer. I have them. I can't move the engine side to side with my hands anymore.

I have these same mounts on my FC, and I can attest that my engine barely moves when you try to shake it too.

I think I might look into those aftermarket mounts.... I keep breaking the passenger side mount after a few months of use!
It feels great going over a bump and feeling the engine shudder araound!!!
