ok i got the engine to start but now i have to stay on the gas to keep it running. When i let off it idles down sits a second idles down some more it keeps doing this till it idles down an dies. anybody know what is goin on with this thing. I pulled the motor out of the car an put it back in didnt change anything an it wasnt doing this before

 

Sounds like a vacuum or air leak or perhaps the AFM is not plugged in.

 

not to sound like an idiot but what is an AFM?
