Engine flush?

hey guys, when i took out my radiator and the hoses, the filler neck at the top of the engine was all brown, gunky, and corroded inside. Is there a way i can clean all this crap out. the manual says to remove the drain plug on the engine, and run water through it, but that wont get rid of the crap in it. Plus, in doing this, will it dislodge the stuff and make bigger problems for me? Any chemicals i should be looking at? The hoses at the bottom were the same way, so im sure its like that all through out the engine. Summer is coming and i want to make sure its ready.

just get some prestone coolant flush or somthing, flush it several times with the chemical and then flush with just distilled water.

When I got mine the PO had not touched it in a while. I flushed and reflushed several times until everything came out clear to be on the safe side.
