Crank her over for a couple of times before actually starting to help prime the oil system (accomplished by pulling the EGI INJ fuse in the engine bay)...
If the rebuild contains used rotor housings, once you get her started, let her idle/ low rpm throttle for a while before shutting her down again...

I heard the same thing about the idle. I let mine idle for four hours but I got criticized. I have 2027 miles on my rebuild and it's running strong.
Make sure and put the battery charger on the battery tonight so it's good and charged tomorrow or whenever. I feel that some of the non-starting issues may have come from a slow turning starter. Mine spun nice a fast and my motor started on the third crank. Smoke wnet everywere.
Set the idle up now or have a friend with you when you start it. One to hold the throttle open and one to make adjustments. Your freind can leave after you get it to idle (even getting to idle high is better)
No matter how carefull you were, fluid of some sort will be leaking.....you'll need to chase them all in that first start. So during that first start make suer you have a light to see AND if you bought the beer your friend should sit in the drivers seat and keep an eye on the temps and oil pressures while you work.
