Engine Dies, read FAQ, still have a question

Hey guys, weird problem started today. The car runs okay, but the engine will cut out, completely.

I first stalled it in the laneway, still had the e-brake on. About 2 minutes later, the engine died at the bottom of the driveway. The car was beeping. Same deal about 5 minutes later. Beeping again. I got out to work no problem after that.

Just now leaving work, it died twice again. I payed attention the beeping, and it was as follows:

beep beep, pause, beep beep, pause, beep beep, pause, beep beep, pause, beep beep.

The closest thing I could find in the FAQ was this:

5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.

I haven't touched with any of the steering stuff ever. Could it still be that?

Thanks
-Rick

You didn't read the FAQ for FC very well:

2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)

The power steering computer is telling you the engine is not running.

DOH! Thanks Icemark.

Does it make sense that it will start to work normally after a few shut downs? Or, is the engine shutting down for something completely different, and its just beeping to let me know the engine shut off? I'm really confused. Help!

the beeps are mearly telling you that the engine died...

as far as why the engine is dieing- well that is another matter, although I have seen that before when the plug for the main relay was loose

I'm doing my spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, and O2 sensor today. Hopefully this will help. It only seems to die under low load (like, 2500-3000 rpm). I'm thinking its starving for gas, possibly from clogged fuel filter. Either that, or its bad gas. I didn't get gas at my usual place. Yesterday was also the first day it was rainy and kind of cold too, maybe that had something to do with it.
