im pretty sure my motor is blown but i have a question thats bothering me
-after compression testing it my front rotor reads 30psi with 3 even hits on the needle so that rotor is fine
-my rear is showing no compression at all after re inserting the gauge multiple times so i know i did it right

when i do the ghetto compression test the pulses come out even and the way they should on both rotors but very weak in the rear

i accept it if my motor is blown and i bought a beater im drivin right now so i have somethin to drive while i fix my 7 but i just think its weird that the comp. is reading like this and the engine jus died the way it did after runnin like a beast

could this be maybe an injection problem or some other type of problem that would cause the comp. to jus die like that?

ive heard of people breakin all seals at once, but from what ive read its very rare, so im confused any ideas?

 

It's normal for them to let go all at once with no notice. You normally dont hear anything, just feel a hesitation and then power loss on the next gearshift.

If the gauge says 0, it's gone.

It's normal to hear a little bit of air noises from a dead rotor, even though no compression is occuring a little air does get whisped around by the rotor.

 

alright thanks alot...that eliminates any doubt time to save for rebuild

 

Now this might be the Lack of sleep, Bad Beer, undercooked meat and the fumes from the BBQ talking but last time i checked 30psi on comression is no where near fine.. sounds like both front and back are toast.. hopefully 1 of the housings is salvagable.
