engine braking? it doesn't work....

Hello learned RX7 crowd, quick question

My RX7 just doesn't really engine brake...it shutters and stutters and just feels more or less terrible for the car. It was my first manual so at the time (a few years ago) I didn't think much of it...but now that I've gotten a "normal" manual I've realized that I should probably be able to slow down in gear and not have the car freak out.

So to get to my question, are RX7s bad at engine braking? or is it something inherent in Rotaries? OR is it something with my car? Maybe the engine mounts or something more sinister?

I can try and describe it better if needed but severe shuttering is the best words I can use to describe what the car does.

It is probably due to your THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, or TPS. Check the FAQ and do a search, the topic has been covered hundreds if not a thousand times.
