are you installing aftermarket guages?

A mechanical guage is typically more accurate per dollar, but involves running an oil line from your engine into your cabin and they leak...all the time...no getting around it. Only variable is how much they leak.

An electrical guage, for a good quality and accurate model, will put you back at least $60...but it's 100% remote. No oil lines and no mess.

Which one you go with is entirely based upon how much money you'd want to spend. Got $60? Autozone sells Autometer brand electrical guages that are actually quite decent. Only got $10? Go get a cheapy sunpro from wal-mart...gotta run the oil line but they're accurate.

If you are trying decide if you need an S4 t2 motor or S5 T2 motor, all you need to know is what year your car is..
86-88 RX7's are all mechanical OMP
89-91 are all Electronic OMP

You're talking about the "oil metering pump" not "sending unit", right? The thing that injects oil into the combustion chambers?
