The Cause of Death
Change the oil and filter.
Read the FAQ at the top of the page.
Rotary engines burn oil. Oil is squirted into the combustion chamber to help with lubrication.

Rich. Not ritch.
How long has it been since an oil change? Rotaries *do* tend to build up a bit more gas in the oil than piston engines.
The O2 sensor should be as good as it was before - a few bottles of alcohol shouldn't damage it. However, you may want to replace it if you don't know when it was last replaced.

Use the search feature, this issue with suspected gasoline in the oil is a very common and frequent thread.
BTW, the same search rule applies to the issue of which oil to use, another beat to death thread.
