Sometimes my car cranks but doesnot start.....I get a strong smel of fuel........sometimes I have to press the gas pedal so that it can fully start......sometimes it starts normally.......whats going on?????

 

Do a search on flooding. It should consume most of the day reading about this common problem in 2nd generation cars. Leaking injectors most common, and you'll find a way to circumvent the problem, but not fix it. A band aide effect.- Fuel switch which cuts fuel supply.
