ems question

so i'm concerned on a daily basis whether or not my car is running at its best, i'd like to get a little more umph out of my stock jdm s5 turbo2 and i want to run 720cc injectors so im thinking i need some sort of engine management where i can get a good tune which will give me some more power and some peace of mind knowing that my car is properly tuned and not running too lean... im not really ready to spend 800+ for a powerfc so what are my options? i've seen stuff about megasquirts and r.tek but not really sure what the difference between these is and a power fc.. thanks in advance

www.pocketlogger.com.
that is the site for RTEK Ecu's..it is a Factory Ecu with "mods".
you can go with a RTEK 1.8 that allows 4x720's or Jump up to the Rtek 21. which is a Programmable ECU( you can adjust it with a Palm pilot).
Oh,these units are "plug and Play" ,No wiring up like a standalone.

if you can't afford at least $800 for the powerfc then you shouldn't be asking this question yet. the powerFC is the cheapest EMS you can possibly run which are fairly easily found for about $500 used(still reliable enough that used ones usually are fine) and $250 for the adapter harness from banzai. this assumes the tuner has a datalogit to tune it with, which cost about $200-300 which can easily push the powerFC above the other EMS systems if you need everything to do it yourself, microtech run about $1100 for a basic system and about $1350 for haltech basic systems. don't ask me about wolf, the only experience i have ever seen with that EMS is a crackhead tuner chris who felt perfectly ok with stealing thousands of dollars from people, never touched one myself and probably never will.

don't waste money on the Rtek and megasquirt. the Rtek is a time sink and limited, the megasquirt is a huge timesink and more of a DIYer EMS that also seems to have limitations since i have seen next to none that wind up in the dyno slip section, though many people say they work well then i still wonder why to this day that no one has proven it since it is the cheapest EMS on the market! tired of getting fed BS reasons why it is still a true EMS yet no one backs it up when it has the largest advantage over all others, cost..

it is also up to who you have locally to tune the car, go by their recommendations on what EMS they are most familiar with and feel safest working with.
