Empty Engine Bay
hey guys, just blew my engine a few days ago....now lookin forward to a turbo swap. For those of you who have already swapped your engines out....im lookin for tips on what i should go ahead and prep while the engines out of the car.
If you could go back and do your engine swap differently...what would you have changed?
should i go ahead and install the front mount and run most of the piping? Should i paint the engine bay? just lookin for some different suggestions like this.....
thanks guys!

Go buy some proper wiring harnass tape, and rewrap the wiring looms.
After 17 years of heat and weather, the old tape gets dirty, discoloured and cracked. Inspect the old harnass for damage, and then once you have made sure it is in good shape, start re-taping over the old stuff. (Taking off the old tape just increases the liklihood of messing something up)
It looks WAY nicer once it is done, and if you clean/paint the engine bay as well - it'll look like new.

well i plan on going with a stand-alone ems...so i'll be running most of the wire while the engine is out....that seems to be the easiest. i want to sand it all down and paint it too....i think clean engine bays are beautiful.
also, i have some rusty holes under the driver and passenger side carpet. so hopefully i can tow it up to a welding place and have them fill those gaps while the engine/tranny is out.
