Emergency Help Needed

Was driving Amber's GXL and it went from Zoom-Zoom to Zoom-BOOM-RATTLE-RATTLE-RATTLE

Now before anyone jumps to any conclusions (blown motor) hear me out real quick.

In neutral or with the clutch in it revs strong and quiet, no rattle no chatter.

When it is in gear it rattles very badly when the car is given any gas, but it still moves. If you put it in gear and let it idle along there is no rattle. if you rev the engine just a little and then slip her in gear she makes a loud knock (outside the motor not like an engine knock) then rattles. If you try to drive it like a normal day she knocks and rattles like a ****, at times it seems like it is the driveshaft but it didn't seem to be bad when I looked but then again it is 11:18 PM

I need help troubleshooting this, HELP!!!!!!!

Sounds like a driveshaft dude....cant tell by looking either...also could have high centered and bent one of the little metal wingy dingy thingies thats around the front part of the shaft...(on some of em)....actually sounds like your universals are going bad....most rx's you cant just replace the joints....a new shaft or a rebuilder has to do it... $250 to $400 avg...good luck dude...

i ahd a similar issue with my clutch disc
here the contact surface material had broken off and it had no balance and made the car shudder and it was only when it was in gear.

I doubt it is the clutch, as it was replaced last month wih the throwout bearing and pressure plate

Often, if it's the transmission, it will be worse in 3rd or 5th and better in 4th.

4th does not use the countershaft or input gear. It's straight through.

My guess - a broken input gear in the tranny.
