Electronic exhaust cutout ideas...

Ok Here is the deal I live in MA and would like to keep my cats on my 87 TII and what not for emissions purposes. I was thinking about getting a 3" DP from racing beat or something of the sort and then getting an electronic cutout. I would install the cutout in the dp and then have an exhaust shop taper the dp down to bolt straight to the cat.

I already have an aftermarket catback at 2.5" and it isnt loud it sounds nice as well as being a clean dual muffler setup so I would like to keep that for normal driving and such and then open up the exhaust cutout for true power.

Has anyone tried this is this a bad idea would this hurt more than help or would I be better off getting a full turbo back. What do you guys think?

I don't know all too much about the cutout but i would prob have to aim it downwards a little more because you wouldnt want it to burn up the undercarriage.

It would help in my opinion, since you have a turbo that is recomended on here to run a 3". I say do it.
