Electronic Exhaust Cut out?
Has anyone have experience with these on TII's. I have electronic cut out before the cat on my integra before. It's a easier than puttting on a full exhaust and you get to keep your cat also cheaper than buying a full exhaust. So theres no problems when you have to smog or anything.
So I already have a 3in dp and want to have a exhaust cut out custom fitted onto it. It would be cheaper than buying a full 3in exhaust and I don't have to worry about smog since I can just close the cut out and only open it when needed.
So anyone got experience with it? I think it will boost creep too much? But Im not sure.

do you have a link or something to this cutout?
I think i may have a vauge idea of what your talking about.
basicly, is it a diverter where you can either run your exhaust as normal, and then with the flip of a switch or whatever, a butterfly valve or something opens up and diverts the exhaust strait out before the cats and all the rest of the exhaust system?

If you port your wastegate, you shouldn't see any issues.
I know someone that had one on their VW 20vT. It worked wonderfully, couldn't tell that the car was even running with it closed, but open it up and DAMN.

search virtual exhaust on google and you will get a link to ATP boost referenced cutout. Basically its a cutout that is actuated by an internal wastegate actuator. You hit a certain boost level and it opens the cut out.

i've always wanted to do a cutout too. i had forgotten about it, but it's definetly an awesome idea. they make a cutout downpipe for a wrx that is a 21hp gain with no other mods according to the company.
ok ok, are you guys talking about an open wastegate now? i thought this was about a diverter that would bypass all of the exhaust, not just the exhaust that comes out the wastegate.
From personal experience, open wastegates are fun for a while, they do get you better boost control and a little more power, but, they are ungodly loud. and for a street car, you'll most likely get tired of it after a few months to a year. and good luck if that thing opens up near a cop :-/
if you're willing to do a little work and make the wastegate dump tube plumb back into the exhaust farther downstream (like a foot or 2) you'll get most of the benefits of an open wastegate, and still keep your car quiet.

No.
I don`t know if this would help,, but my brother has a 97 240 sx ballbearing t3/4 boosted ka24de-t 0n 7 psi with a cut out quicktime preformance he gets like a 25 hp gain when it is open you can feel the difference
there is absolutely no reason you would ever need a headder dump, there are more inconspicuous ways of gaining power on a daily driver, cops will bother you daily, save the loud *** cars for track use.
thats just retarded, have fun when the old bastard is so scared he side swipes your car, and bad drivers are just that BAD DRIVERS they cant handel not stareing at spinniners let alone a loud brap and a fire ball under a car bad idea any way you look at it.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
Reason 1: its stupid loud scares old people, but is quite when you need it to be.
Thats the only reason you need.

if he had it for track use on a daily driver (which LOTS of people on here do) and to me, its a pretty cheap way of adding ponies FAST! assuming you have supporting mods....and learn to spell!
the gain would come from furthur wastegate porting, and a ecu bin file, tuned for the lack of back pressure in the absence of a cat back.
if your going to the track, and take the time to prep your street car, 2 bolts and 5 hangers are more than easy to remove, race your car, and then put it back on
if you enjoy driveing a car that has a massive exhaust leak all the time, just to impress your gay friends by makeing it stupid loud when you pull a lever, its all u bud
header dump= way gay
