Electrical troubles
So I was driving home last night and my car just shut down. Luckily I was able to pull it off the road and into a safe place. The interior lights were dim and the headlight motors were slow to raise. I figure the battery was drained and it could possibly be a bad alternator. I came back in the morning to jump the car but it was a no go. The engine turns over and at times sounds like it going to start but doesn't. It is a fresh rebuild so could it be something as simple as the engine being flooded? Do the symptoms above sound like a bad alternator. Thanks for all the input. It is not at my house so i'm trying to figure out the possibilites before I try anything

Correct. its is a turbo. Got the battery checked out and it was good. If it is a bad alternator i should just be able to start the car and disconnect the battery to see if its a bad alternator right? the only thing is that i think its flooded so it probably won't start anyways. My car would not just shut down for no reason would it? there has to be something wrong electrically right?

The voltage reg in the alt can spike if it does not see the ignition input up past 16 volts. The battery serves as a capcitor to help prevent this from happening.
