Electrical System
I recently bought a '7 for 600 dollars from a guy who had it sitting in his garage for 5 years. However, the guy didn't have a key, so some kids tried to hotwire it. They were unsucessful in doing so. Evidentally, there's another switch that activates only when the key is in the ignition and is turned. This prevents the fuel pump from being on, and the windows won't work either. The engine would turn over, but I'm don't know whether or not it was getting spark. However, I noticed two other wires headed to the ignition. I cut those and twisted them together. I tried turning it again, and the window motors worked. I'm not sure whether the fuel pump was activated or not, as I do not have another ear to hear back there. I've heard other fuel pumps in the past, and know what humm the produce, however, I'm not sure whether the RX-7's sound different, or muffled, due to the placement.
My question is, is there another wire that I might have to splice before I can get the fuel pump to work, or is the wire that I spliced under the ignition switch sufficent enough to activate the pump and give it spark?
Props to the person who can answer my question.

I know it is giving it spark. I tested it yesterday with ether and it caught and turned over, but since it was ether, it didn't run. I'm sure the the problem is, at this point, is that it just isn't getting any gas. I put ocatane boost and 5 gallons of good gas into it, but the spark plugs still smelled like that old gas that was in there. I just need to know whether the wire switch I made caused the fuel pump to activaet also, and whether it's another problem, not the switch.
