Electrical Problems With Vert

ok i own an '88 vert and ive had electrical problems like crazy with it. first, the dashlights will change their dimness setting by themselves. ill be driving with the dimmer maybe 2 or 3 clicks and then all of a sudden they'll go to full brightness. then it will flick back to where i have it. second, my dome light doesnt work. replaced the bulb, checked the fuse, dont know what else to do. and third, and this is the big one, i was having problems keeping my battery charged. it would run dead during just one drive. i found that to be a weak battery and my alternator was bad. so i replaced both of those and got everything back to normal. but now, as im driving, my idiot light cluster will come on, like when you first turn the ignition on. it will stay on for a bit while im driving but i never thought anything of it. but today i happened to glance at the volt meter and it said 12 volts, like the alternator wasnt charging the battery, and it also slowly started to drop as i was driving like before i changed the old alternator. i have no idea why it does this. anyone have any ideas to these problems?

because between this stuff and some other problems ive had, this thing is probably getting sold in the spring time >:[.

Dashlight isseu indicates a bad or failing light switch, or burnt light switch harness

no dome light indicated a blown room fuse or bad bulb

idiot lights coming on at all while the engine is running indicates a bad alternator or bad CPU. If the volt meter is staying above 13.5 volts, then it is a bad CPU, if the volt meter is dropping under 12 volts, then it is a bad alternator (and just because you replaced it recently-means nothing, especially if it is a cheapo auto zone crappy rebuilt alternator which only about 25% of them actually work).
