I just finished swapping motors and the only wiring harness that was change was only the ECU. I dont know if the swap had anything to do with this problem or not.

I just put the battery back in the car I DID NOT start it yet. (waiting on heater hose) But i turned the key to on position and voltage shot up to halfway. all idiot lights are on, shift light as well. i then turned the car off and removed the key and noticed the charge and shift light were dimmly lit.

whats going on?

im no good at electrical so any guidance is appreciated.

 

Remove the two wire plug off the back of the alternator and see if this turns the light(s) off.
