Electrical Problem ?

Have a 90 vert that sudenly has the check engine light on. Ran through the fuses to find out what circuit causing the problem and after pulling the meter fuse the check engine light went out. Question is what is the meter fuse circuit ? Checked through the entire servce manual and can't find anything. Also, pulling the fuse affected the engine idle, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the fuel or air system. Not sure where to go look for the problem since I don't know what the circuit is.
By the way, it's a 10 amp circuit based on the fuse. The battery was stone dead a few weeks ago and I threw a battery charger on it, the battery came right back and the light came on after that, so not sure if charger caused the problem.
Ideas ?
