electrical problem... :(

ok well for the past month or so ive been having problem with my power. ex: at night when i have my headlights(H.I.D) stereo and a/c.if im at a stop or idle and i hit the brakes my power to the stereo goes out or one of my lights bug out and i gotta rev the engine so my HID kicks on...weird..i was wondering if my grounds are shitty i have an optima i really dont like it and i just put a new alternator about month or so and it didnt make a difference.i got a regular battery sitting at home i wonder if it could be the battery...also on my turbo timer when everything is on it reads 11.3v then when i hit the brakes it brings it down to 10.5 sometimes 9.i know for a fact it was at 14v but it hasnt been up there in a long time...so can anybody give me advice? thanks in advance.

bad or improperlly connected alternator.

Voltage should never be under 13.5 volts with the engine running and should be at 14.4 volts in normal operation (including with the lights on).

Anytime voltage is under 12.6 volts, you are running on the battery, and the alt is not even producing enough voltage to run the car.

The alt you got was/is probably a POS.

well they haven't made new alts for that car in 15 years...

Do you really mean you got some cheap *** rebuild from autozone that had only a 50% chance of working out of the box?
