********** i have aftermarket gauges for the rest*************8

Uh, oh. I see what MIGHT be the problem with the R/G circuit. I bet one of those gauges is tied to the R/G and shorting things out.

R/B seems to be good to go since you jumpered G/W to R/B and the tail/side lights work fine.

well none of my aftermarket gauges light up, i havent pulled the tach or speedo out. but ive looked at the back of the oil and temp and they just have a +/- and a signal wire going to them. there are no provisions for lighting on these gauges

i can depin the W/G and R/B wires and connect them with a switch in the middle to turn the tail lights on manually, ill also depin the R/G wire and connect that to the switch with the R/B and see if the instrument lights work then. ill check the other end of the harness first and if its burned out there just do some rewiring so the switch works like it should.

i dont remember the other lights lighting up when i jumped the W/G and R/G wires. i will double check though. so that would mean my harness could be messed up on the other end. but you know im thinking i dont even need to mess with that, because the light isnt going to help me. what i need is to later on get the bulbs that fit in the back of the aftermarket gauges and wire them up.

i grounded the cd player to the body of the car, i read in your FAQ thread to not ground it to the wires already there. i used the ignition and power wires labeled in your thread. and hey where can i get a relay like that to make my stock antenna to work?

i checked out the blue connector and everything looked good there. then i jumped the W/G and R/G again and the other instrument lights DO come on. and the blinker lights come on, but the blinker lights come on without jumping the wires. so it seems i have a burnt out bulb behind the gauge cluster.

i dont know why the R/B isnt getting power through the switch when i turn the headlights on other than the switch is messed up and thats why its blowing the fuse. so im going to run a new switch for the tail lights right now.
