I HAVE AN 87 FC GXL does anyone have the eletrical diagram and or the grounds and locations.... and how to ground my ECU.


any help would be very appreciated......

Please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section before posting. It has the answeres to many common questions such as the one you asked in this thread.

 

ON a 87 car, the grounds for the ECU are pin 2R, 3A and 3G. They go to a ground point called 24. That point 24 is located on top of the engines rear rotor housing. The three wires are in a ring terminal and bolted down.

See page 50:20 for those wires.

For the location of the 25 plus ground points on the car, go to page 50:9 of the 87 fsm. If using another year manual, it'll be a different page and perhaps a different format. 87 is the best year for wiring diagrams, period.
