Electrical Gurus Look

I had a problem a while back when some of the wires on the coming off of the ACV (on the engine harness) shorted out against the block.

Due to the fact that the previous owner put too big a fuse in the EGU Comp. terminal on the main fuse block, my "front wiring harness" melted itself together.

I have been in the process of replacing the front harnes and decided to check out the "engine harness" before I cranked her over.

Question is:
Should I be getting continuity between one wire on the Port Air Solinoid connector and one wire on the BAC connector, as well as a few other connectors?
Or does that signal another short in the engine harness?
I think they are all on the same circuit, but I am not sure if they should have continuity.

Hi:

The Port Air Solenoid Valve and Bac and a few others are connected via B/W wire,
so yeah you should have continuity.

If you don't have fsm for your car,
go get it at www.fc3s.org under manuals (it's free)

get the chapter that says: wiring diagrams
and everything will be crystal clear, at least, on paper

Good luck,
Hugues -

Thanks, I have the manual and have been going through the wiring diagram. I just wanted to double check with someone else.

I thought I would have to get another engine harness, but it looks like it checks out OK!

do you know what the most important thing I have learned in all the time I have had a rotory is?It is when you start having problems with electrical parts replace them with new.I know what you thinking its very costly ,now you can do what you are doing but will always have problems if you buy a new one thats one last thing you have to worry about. I have got a hook up at joe myers mazda on 290 .
