electrical gremlins
ok here is the problem, or just one of the possible many wrong with my car.
The car wont start on the first crank. 1 second or 15 it wont turn until i turn it over a second time. this was fine until last night when it didnt want to start. it would give a little cough and the die. if i timed it right i could start it if i gave it a little throttle.this only happens when it sits for more that half an hour. warm starts are fine.
my tranny is also having problems.it tends to "slip", but i have an automatic.this slipping usually occures while the car is cold, but for the last 3 days has worked its way from the 2-3 gear shift to all gears and even when just moving at idle. it as if the tranny has a clutch, and is only being partially applied.also, on my dash the clock will flicker on and off. it does the with any bumps or garrs in the road. and my lights for the radio and rear defroster and pop up lights flicker when i tap the dash. any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
what temp are you starting at??? cold??? warm??? what is the engine at when trying to start???
when was the ATF and filter last changed in the tranny??? I suspect that the tranny is worn out however.
I would also re-solder the idiot light/clock panel and check the plug at the back of the light switch.

i just filled the tranny fluid, it was a little bit low.the fluid looked clean and you can tell its fairly new. these problems with engine and tranny mostly happen when it is cold, usually after 45mins+ of sitting. ill try the solder as soon as i can afford a hayes book thanx for your help!
