Electrical germlins...why must they haunt me so?

Alright, so I have a few questions. My S4 T2 has a little problem. My headlights don't work....I'll be a bit more specific. When I plug in the headlight relay the headlights stay on. Regardless if the lights are switched on or not. While plugged in the relay buzzes also. Also, my defroster light on the left side(furthest to the drivers window) comes on.

When I unplug the relay and flip the light switch on, only the parking lights come on(tail lights also). The flip up housings don't flip up as they should when the headlights are activated. Except for when I flip them up with the flip up switch. So that leads me to believe the motor still works, but it's related to the headlights.

Anybody have any idea what it could be? I'd rather have a few ideas on hand before I start hacking up the wiring to swap the relay.

Another problem I have is my turn signals. They don't work, at all. Not on the outside or inside(in the gauge cluster). I'm thinking it's the switch. Anybody else have anything to add?

Thanks, sorry for the legnth. I'd rather give as much info as I can before having people ask for symptoms. That way everyone is on the same page

hey man. just a thought, it could be a fuse, or even more than that it could be the CPU. its the little rectangular black plastic box that is right next to your under dash fuse box. it controls the flashers and stuff...just a thought... and check fuzez....

have you switched out the light switch harness or light or turn signal switches recently???

sounds a lot like the wrong series turn signal switch or that the headlight switch has shorted internally.

BTW the headlight circuit is completely seperate of the tail/parking light circuit as well as neither have anything to do with the CPU other than a feed for the CPU buzzer. The headlight curcuit is triggered by ground from the headlight switch, while the parking lights are triggered by 12volts+. Completely unrelated inside the switch.

Yes i've checked the fuses. I put a new fuse in the turn signal slot and nothing happend. I haven't switched out anything as far as harnesses are concerned.

The only reason I mentioned the headlights not popping up when the switch is switched to the headlight positon is because it's on the same switch as the parking lights.

I'm going to buy a new turn signal switch, that's for sure. If it's not that, then I guess it's time to start tracing the wires to look for corrosion or something causes resistance in the lines. This should be fun...
