Electrical arc in 88 vert rx-7 [Pics]
so I have an electrical arc in my 88 convertible RX-7 near the ignition coil and wanna know do I change the wires? the coil? change the wires and the coils?
... and yeah the electrical tape was put there by the previous owner and seems to be doing a swell job for what ever she hoped it would solve
AND NOW FOR THE ACTION SHOTS

... it wasn't delightful
since my clutch is depressed all the way to the floor... waiting for a new slave should be coming in this Weds
i would either buy a used coil pack or new ( which isnt very cheap ) , also buy a new set of wires for like 40-70 bucks
Thats pretty cool. Definitely get new wires! It would be a lot cheaper than new coils, and from the looks of it you probably need them anyways. Might as well change the plugs while you're there too.
Also, you should wash that engine bay, but thats just a personal preference

Change your Wires FIRST..that may save you a couple buck son getting another trailing coil.(if it isn't a coil, and only just crappy Wires)
that tape job is "really SUPER"...(not....)

So there's tape on the coil, likely hiding a crack or something, it's arcing from underneath the tape, and you haven't even removed the tape to see what's under it?
Call me a jerk, but this seems pretty open and shut to me.

slightly though I'm just gonna change the whole sha-bang, wires, coil, sparks and then finally give her a good scrubbing cause she is dirty as heck only when i have time though
future advice for the kids don't work for RaC (rent a center) 10hrs shift averaging 60 hours a week and your over time doesn't start till 48hrs (how gay is that but i signed the contract agreeing so that my problem)
and shaolin you are a jerk
