electric waterpump question

can anyone tell me how many gallons per minute (gpm) I need to run for a electronic waterpump to cool efficiently

It varies. So not really.

On my EWP very rarely runs at 100%, the davis Craig controller with pulse the flow.

how many gpm is it rated for? When looking to buy one I see two different levels 20-30 and 45-55 gpm. what is enough?

It's a rotary, better safe then sorry. Go for the highest rated.

Why do you want a EWP?
Because mech drive has to many downsides...

this way you have a constant flow cooling the engine better in situations like stop and go traffic where your idling and the pump isnt spinning much, and it stops cavitation at high rpms
