electric fan working?

well, I installed an electic fan off of a Catilac yesterday and it seems to work well but how can you tell if it is flowing properly. I heard that if it can hold a dollar to the radiator then it is ok. It does but it just seemed a little slow (car's battery is very low and that probably has to do with it).

the battery might have something to do with it but when your cars on then its your alternator mostly... if u can feel a good breeze from the fan... then it will probally be ok just watch your temp gauge for the next few days and se if anything happens....

well, the car has not been running (the battery would barley turn over the motor) I have had it all apart. I have ported the intake manifold, done the TB mod, removed all emissions and cold start stuff, and now installed an electric fan at once. Oh yea, I removed my 5th and 6th ports. Yea I do feel a nice breeze and I think that it is a multiple speed fan and I need to just straight wore so I am sure it is at full force (I has three wires and a set of large resistors). I will try that tomorrow. I made some brackets for it and it fits well. It covers the entire radiator.

Turn the car on and leave it idling. If it can't keep the temp at the normal level, it's not flowing enough.
