1987 N/A auto. base model

ok still working on the hole heater not working. talked to icemark and he told me to replace the selanoid down by the blower cause you can hear it clicking
when moving the adjuster bar on the logicon. he said it wasnt the logicon due to the fact there is power getting down there. so i start looking for this thing and ov coarse had no clue and couldnt find it. i also wen and got a Thermal fuse that a few of you said to replace i to couldnt find it down by the blower. either way just for ***** and giggles i took the blower out and hooked it up the battery. and it worked. then i with it not hooked up i got a multimeter out and hooked it up to the 2 wires to go the actural blower/ fan. i read power and when i adjusted the speed on the slider , the power increased. going from 0 all the way to 30 and when you moved it back slowly it deacreased. so i know it gettin the power there. then when i put the blower/ fan unit back on there nothing no power fan doesnt turn.

any input ? im going to call icemark lateron tonight after work but figured id check on here firt.

down by the blower unit there are capbles with a white box box that when you open it has a fuse in it that looks like the thermal fuse but i wasnt sure if that was it or not. cause it looked dirrerent that in the post pics i saw from previous post.

like i said no unit hooked up and its getting power but ones the unit is hooked up ther is no power.

could it have something to do with the blower? the blower is a new one that i bought. would it matter which one they gave ? i mean electronicallly? please let me know .
thanks

Half the battle is already won, because it sounds like you know how to use a meter

There are step-by-step troubleshooting guides for this system in the FSM...I've never had to mess with mine yet, but I thought the fuse was on top of the blower assy. In any case, you need to find it and read it out with the meter. If it's in the power circuit for the blower, and you connected the wiring to make it work out of the car, wouldn't that make the fuse good, though?

yea see im getting power at the cables you cut to take the old one off and then you take the new blower/fan and insert itn the area and connect the new part wires to the old wires.

there is power in the wires when i dont have the new blower/fan attched to the old wires. but as soon as i conect them and reassemble the thing there is no fan turning or even power giong to it. its really strange

i dont think its a fuse or some sort cause the cables are getting power.

thats why i was asking if it would be the blower/fan nit itself. didnt know if it would have something internally that would keep it from working on our cars. didnt know if there were specific kind for our cars.

let me know . thanks

Look in the FSM wiring manual, the HVAC system is about 1/2 way back in the manual, it'll help you to troubleshoot a little more effectively. Like I said, I've never had to mess with mine, so the only help I could provide would come from the schematics also
